VIDEO: Saturday's forecast for the North East

SATURDAY NIGHT:

A windy evening with heavy and blustery showers merging into longer spells of rain at times. Clearer spells developing from the north later in the night, with winds easing, giving a risk of a rural frost by dawn. Lows 1°C.

SUNDAY:

A cold and locally frosty start, but then a largely dry and bright day with sunny spells. Breezy towards the coast, with a chance of a passing shower here, but with lighter winds inland. Highs 7°C.

OUTLOOK:

Frosty at first Monday, then dry and bright, hazy sunshine later. Turning cloudier and milder into Tuesday with outbreaks of rain or drizzle a risk by Wednesday.
