A jury has found the ex-partner of Kelly Franklin guilty of her murder after he stabbed her over 30 times in the street.
Torbjorn Kettlewell, 30, of The Oval, Hartlepool , has been convicted of murdering the mum of three.
His friend and lover, nurse Julie Wass, 49, has been found guilty of her manslaughter.
The jury retired on Tuesday morning and spent around three hours deliberating before returning unanimous verdicts.
Kelly was attacked by her abusive ex-partner, and father to her children, on Oxford Road, in the Rift House area of Hartlepool, in August last year, Teesside Crown Court heard.
He admitted attacking Kelly but denied murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility .
Wass, 49, of Kipling Road, Hartlepool, had also faced a murder charge.
However, the jury found her guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Married Wass, who worked as a nurse for 23 years and has four daughters and three grandchildren, said she did not know Kettlewell had a knife when she picked him up at his flat before the fatal confrontation in Hartlepool in August.
The pair will be sentenced on Wednesday.
