A man who stabbed his ex-partner more than 30 times in the street will serve a minimum term of 29 years for her murder.
Torbjorn Kettlewell, 30, of The Oval, Hartlepool, was given a life sentence for murdering the mum of three Kelly Franklin.
His friend and lover, nurse Julie Wass, 49, has been found guilty of her manslaughter.
She has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Kelly was attacked by her abusive ex-partner, and father to her children, on Oxford Road, in the Rift House area of Hartlepool, in August last year.
He admitted attacking Kelly but denied murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Wass, 49, of Kipling Road, Hartlepool, had also faced a murder charge, but was found guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Married Wass, who worked as a nurse for 23 years and has four daughters and three grandchildren, said she did not know Kettlewell had a knife when she picked him up at his flat before the fatal confrontation in Hartlepool in August.
