Police investigate armed robbery in Middlesbrough

Police are releasing CCTV footage following a robbery in Middlesbrough.

The robbery took place at around 6.30am on Sunday 27th January at Sainsbury’s on Ennis Square in Dormanstown.

No-one was hurt in the incident despite the fact the suspect was armed with a hammer and a screwdriver.

A male suspect described as being aged in his mid to late thirties, around 5ft 9” tall and of slim build entered the store carrying a hammer and screwdriver and threatened those inside before stealing a large amount of cash and making off from the scene.

He was wearing a luminous yellow Huntsman three-quarter length coat, a blue hooded top with the hood up and dark trousers.
