Sunderland lights up to show solidarity with Sri Lanka

Landmarks, structures and public spaces across Sunderland are being lit as a mark of solidarity following the Sri Lanka Easter terror attacks.

The colours of the Sri Lankan flag - green, orange and red, will illuminate parts of the city, almost a week on from the attacks. The following places will be lit from dusk today until Sunday 28th April:

  • The Northern Spire
  • National Trust's Penshaw Monument
  • Keel Square
  • Seaburn Lighthouse
  • High Street West
  • Fulwell Mill
