Police have charged a second man with murder after the death of 39-year-old Michael Phillips in Hartlepool.
Mr Phillips was found with significant injuries at a property on Rydal Street on Monday 10 June.
Cleveland Police have now confirmed that 31-year-old Lee Darby has been charged with murder, burglary and for possessing a weapon in connection with the incident.
The man appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Tuesday 18 June.
Another man, Neil Elliott, a director of the Niramax waste management firm in Hartlepool, appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Friday 14 June charged with murder. The 44 year old is also charged with burglary, intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, and actual bodily harm.
