Fire crews across the North East and North Yorkshire experienced a busy Bonfire Night, dealing with nuisance behaviour and tackling bin fires.

In Hartlepool, council officers and fire crews worked to remove illegal bonfires.

Crews were also called to a fire at the Park End pub in Middlesbrough just before 10pm last night.

The fire was brought under control before 11pm, after it spread from the roof to the rest of the derelict building.

There were also reports on social media of fireworks being thrown at fire crews, although these seem to have been isolated incidents.

Overall however, there were relatively few reports of serious anti-social behaviour.

In Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland and Newton Aycliffe, fire crews from the County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service tackled building fires.
