The starting gun has been fired, Parliament has been dissolved and campaigning has begun in the 2019 General Election.

Boris Johnson met the Queen at Buckingham Palace this morning marking the official start of the election period in the run-up to polling day on December 12.

So now it's underway, we asked ITV News Election Expert Professor Colin Rallings, "What are the main issues facing voters in the North East?"
