Hundreds of thousands of people are thought to have attended this year's Lumiere festival in Durham, including the millionth visitor.
The bi-annual event, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, came to a close last night.
First estimates put the number of visitors at 165,000.
It started on Thursday and featured 37 installations and projections, which were designed to showcase the work of both international and local artists working in the medium of light.
A spokesperson for the event said:
The festival also featured one marriage proposal at the Keys of Light display, which featured a piano played by more than 160 local pianists.
