Police are searching for two key witnesses after a 25 year-old Catterick man was charged with attempted murder.

It follows an incident that occurred in the village of Little Holtby, near Northallerton, in the early hours of Sunday 1 December 2019.

A 43 year-old man sustained critical injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who has any information about the incident and has not already spoken to the police, to contact them.

Officers are trying to trace a man and woman who left Club Amadeus in Northallerton at around 3am. As they climbed into the back of their taxi they were joined by another man who sat in the front passenger seat.

Officers believe that the taxi first stopped in the Elm Avenue junction with Elm Court area of Northallerton before continuing to Little Holtby and that the couple may have vital information that could assist the investigation.

The suspect was remanded in custody following his arrest on 1 December and is due to appear in court on Monday 2 December 2019.
