Police are trying to establish what caused the death of two men whose bodies were found on a boat on the River Ouse in York.

North Yorkshire Police made the discovery on Wednesday night when they found the boat moored close to Museum Street shortly before 8pm.

The men were both believed to be in their sixties.

Their families alerted authorities after they hadn't been in touch. An investigation is ongoing and the deaths of the men are being treated as unexplained pending the results of a post mortem.
