The leader of the Liberal Democrats visited the region for the first time in the party's General Election campaign.

Jo Swinson arrived in York today and sat down for an interview with our Political Correspondent, Martin Stew.

During the interview, Ms Swinson denied 'ignoring' the North East, despite her campaign focusing on the South of England. She was unable to name her party's candidate for the Berwick-upon-Tweed seat - which the Liberal Democrats held for 40 years until 2015.
