Middlesbrough-born singer James Arthur has revealed he is still working with his former X Factor mentor Nicole Scherzinger.
The singer, 32, won the competition under Scherzinger's stewardship.
After his win, Arthur overcame a battle with depression and anxiety to establish himself as a successful pop star.
He said the success of his hit 'Say You Won't Let Go' went some way to making him financially secure.
Arthur told a newspaper: "We're in touch all the time, she's (Scherzinger) so supportive.
"Any gig she can make, she's there like a proud mentor."
"We got our heads together and thought, 'How can we entertain fans during this lockdown?'"
Arthur also discussed a time when he went through financial difficulties following his X Factor triumph, despite his self-titled album reaching number two in the charts.
He said: "I was in hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of debt.
"I was doing gigs in Moldova every other Saturday to pay the rent and get myself out of the red.
"It was tough times.
"I made an awful lot of money after The X Factor and my first album. I don't know how I burnt through it all."
Arthur won The X Factor in 2012.
