Police are investigating an aggravated burglary after a 60-year-old woman was threatened with a knife in Sunderland.

Woman threatened with a knife

A 60-year-old woman is recovering after being threatened with a knife by two men demanding money. Police were called to Lichfield Road in Sunderland at 5.40am on 7th May. The woman told officers that two men had broken in. She said one man stayed with her while the other searched the house.

The men left with money. The woman was distressed but not injured. Two men were spotted running along Lichfield Road, Beaumont Street and Faber Road. One man is described as being 5ft tall, then and in his 30s. Another, thin and wearing a blue jacket.
