Police name RAF pilots killed in light aircraft crash

Police have identified the two men who tragically died in the aircraft crash on Saturday 30th April.

They were 21 year old Cameron James Forster from Sussex, and 25 year old Ajvir Singh Sandhu from Essex.

The aircraft crashed in fields between Castle Howard and the A64.

Investigations underway into cause of fatal North Yorkshire plane crash

Investigations are underway to find out the cause of a plane crash in North Yorkshire which claimed the lives of two people.

The pilot and his passenger, were killed when their light aircraft came down today in fields near Castle Howard in North Yorkshire.

Police were called to the scene this morning by members of the public after the plane crashed into a field just off mains road.

The men were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the accident is not yet known.

North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that two men have died in a light aircraft crash near Castle Howard.

The plane came down in a field close to the A64 this morning.

A light aircraft has crashed near Castle Howard.

North Yorkshire Police received a number of calls from members of the public at around 10.40am this morning (April 30).

The aircraft crashed in fields between Castle Howard and the A64.

There are believed to be two casualties on board.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch have been informed.

Roads in the area have been closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident and members of the public are advised to keep away from the area.
