Corporal Josh Hoole died after a training exercise in the Brecon area of Wales on the hottest day of the year earlier this month.

Mourners have lined Ecclefechan's high street to pay their respects to a Dumfries and Galloway soldier who died last week.

Corporal Josh Hoole served in The Rifles Regiment and died after a two hour march in the Brecon Beacons on what was the hottest day of the year. Local residents lined the route of the hearse, through Corporal Hoole's home village, on its way to his funeral service in Dumfries.
