200 new workers have been taken on at the country's biggest potash mine as part of a major expansion.
Cleveland Potash is investing £300m at its site near Saltburn and says it will increase production and help secure of the mine for another 40 years in the future.
1100 people are currently employed by the company, which is looking to recruit another 85.
It mines potash and polyhalite used in fertilisers and extracts salt which is used to grit the roads.
As well as employing local people, the firm is drawing from a pool of experienced former miners to make sure it can meet demand.
