Witness appeal after two deaths on North Yorkshire road

North Yorkshire Police are continuing to ask witnessed to a crash which claimed two lives to come forward with information.

Two pedestrians died just before midnight on Saturday when they were crossing the A64 and were hit by a minibus.

They had just got off a double decker bus when it happened at Crambeck, south of Malton.

The names of the two people who died have not been released.

Police have confirmed that they were a woman, aged 52, and a 51-year-old man.

Both were from the Malton area.

Two pedestrians, a man and a woman, have died after being hit by a minibus in North Yorkshire.

A woman, aged 52, and a 51-year-old man had just got off a double decker bus and were crossing the A64 when it happened.

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened just before midnight on Saturday, at Crambeck, south of Malton.

Officers say the pair, who were form the Malton area, had alighted from a Coastliner double-decker bus and were crossing the dual carriageway when they were struck by black Renault minibus, which was travelling west, towards York.

A police spkkesman said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any information, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask to Emma Drummond or Mark Mullins. In particular we would like to speak to anyone who saw the Renault minibus at any time during the evening or the Coastliner bus in the Crambeck area."

Man, 22, dies after Malton collision

A 22-year-old man has died following a crash in Malton.

Police were called to the A169 at Marishes just before 9pm on 22 December.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who recalls seeing a blue Volkswagen Passat, to come forward as soon as possible.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.

Friend pays tribute to A64 crash victims

Tributes have been paid to four members of the same family who died in a car crash in North Yorkshire.

Joy and Derek Green were travelling in the same car as another couple who had just got married. They were also killed.

They were involved in an accident with a lorry on the A64 between Scarborough and Malton on Friday.

Investigations underway into cause of fatal North Yorkshire plane crash

Investigations are underway to find out the cause of a plane crash in North Yorkshire which claimed the lives of two people.

The pilot and his passenger, were killed when their light aircraft came down today in fields near Castle Howard in North Yorkshire.

Police were called to the scene this morning by members of the public after the plane crashed into a field just off mains road.

The men were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
