There's a warning that summer storms that have affected our region in recent years could become a regular occurrence. A report published today by the MET office warns that we are likely to get more intense rain storms as a result of climate change.
The Met Office has issued amber weather warnings for Tyne & Wear, Cleveland and Northumberland. All warnings are for between 1am and midnight on February 12.
