Police are appealing for information after a car was reportedly shot at in Gateshead.
Officers received a call just after 6pm on Sunday evening that a member of the public had seen someone in a black vehicle discharge a firearm at a blue coloured vehicle. Both were driving north on the A194 (M) northbound near to the junction of the A195 at Follingsby.
Enquiries are on-going to locate the vehicles and those involved in the incident.
A section of the A194 (M) was closed northbound between the A182 and A195 at Follingsby but has now reopened.

A man's in hospital with gun shot wounds to the arm. Police have closed an area of Monkchester Road, in the Walker area of Newcastle. The 24 year old was taken to the city's Royal Victoria Infirmary just after half past six last night. His condition is not described as life threatening.
