Teenagers arrested after Skelton and Saltburn fires

Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with fires in Skelton and Saltburn.

The fires happened on the morning of 21 April. One at Skelton Castle and the other at The Fairways in Saltburn. In the second incident, a detached garage was set alight.

All three males, aged 13, 17 and 19 have been released from custody with no bail conditions whilst enquiries continue.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a baby suffered a fractured skull in a car crash on Christmas Day.

Two cars collided on the A137 near Skelton in North Yorkshire at around quarter to eight on Friday evening.

A 20-year-old man was taken to James Cook Hospital with a fractured pelvis.

Two other adults and a one-year-old were also taken to hospital with more minor injuries.

Christmas Day crash leaves baby with fractured skull

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Christmas Day car crash that left a baby with a fractured skull.

A Peugeot 106 and a Ford Mondeo collided on the A173, half a mile west of Skelton and directly outside Banks Farm at 7:44pm.

A 20-year-old man who was driving the Peugeot was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he is receiving treatment for a fractured pelvis.

A 19-year-old woman who was a passenger, received treatment for tissue damage. A one-year-old boy was also taken to James Cook University Hospital.

A 40-year-old man who was driving the Mondeo suffered tissue damage.

Skelton announces councillors after three recounts

Two Labour councillors and one Conservative councillor have been announced after THREE recounts in Skelton. The count began on Friday morning at 11am, it was done twice, and after a weekend break, the count finished at 11am on May 11. The result means there is no overall majority. The Council's Annual General Meeting is in two weeks.

Have you seen Catherine?

A 58 year old woman has gone missing and Cleveland Police are asking people to report any sightings of her.

Catherine Bowman, from Skelton, Catherine was last seen near a McDonalds restaurant on the A66 at Cargo Fleet at 12 noon on Friday..

Police say she often frequents Redcar Town Centre and Middlesbrough.

She was wearing a black and grey checked coat, black trousers and boots and a grey jumper with wording ‘love’ on it.

Anyone who sees her or knows where she is should contact Cleveland Police on 101.

Appeal to trace missing Skelton woman

Police are appealing for information about the whereabouts of a missing 35-year-old woman from Skelton.

Lisa Hernandez left her home address in the East Cleveland village some time in the afternoon of Thursday 2nd May and has not been seen or heard of since then.

Lisa is white, of slim build and 5’6” tall. She has shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes.

She was known to be wearing a white or pink coloured t-shirt, blue jeans and grey trainers at the time of her disappearance.

Lisa was last seen in Middlesbrough town centre near the Barracuda public house at around 11pm last Thursday.

Police are now encouraging anyone who has seen her since then - or who knows where she is - to get in touch.
