It was a misunderstanding that ended up netting a Gateshead couple nearly two hundred thousand pounds. John Ord and his wife Karen each bought a lottery ticket for last Saturday's draw believing the other would forget. It turned out to be the best mistake they have ever made.
Their identical tickets, made up of numbers from family birthdays, matched five numbers and the bonus ball. Today the pair received not one, but two identical cheques.
