A event in Durham to celebrate servicemen and women has been cancelled because of the recent heavy rain.
The free Jubilee Proms in the Park concert had been due to take place on Sunday afternoon but organisers say the ground is too wet for it to go ahead. The event was arranged ahead of Armed Forces Day, next Saturday 30 June.
But the chairman of the council will still carry out a veterans' badge presentation and host afternoon tea for veterans and their families in County Hall.
“This would have been a very enjoyable musical event, planned for residents and visitors of Durham but the recent weather conditions and the forecast for Sunday mean that it would have been a wash out unfortunately."
