Mother of murdered schoolgirl guilty of harassing neighbour

The Sunderland mother of murdered schoolgirl Nikki Allen has been found guilty of harassing a man she claimed had evidence to catch her daughter's killer.

Sharon Henderson's seven year old daughter was stabbed to death in Sunderland in 1992.

The 46 year old, from Rosslyn Avenue, was found guilty at Sunderland Magistrates Court of launching a series of "abusive and threatening attacks" against her neighbour and his wife.

The court heard that she made repeated visits to their home, sometimes late at night.

The neighbour denied having any information about the murder case.

A previous charge of criminal damage against Henderson was dropped. She is due to be sentenced on March 11th.
