What is hoped to be a revolutionary new cancer drug is having its first trial in Newcastle.
The trial, which is taking place at the Sir Bobby Robson centre at the Freeman Hospital, is exciting because it is the first time cancer cells have been targeted in this way.
As Julia Barthram reports - the eyes of the world are on Newcastle to see if this is the longed-for breakthrough in the fight against cancer.
