A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a police officer from Sunderland in London during the 1980s.
PC Keith Blakelock was stabbed to death in riots at the Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham, on 6 October 1985.
Scotland Yard reopened the investigation into the 40-year-old's death. Nicholas Jacobs, now 44, has been charged with murder and appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
