Detectives say they've identified 80 women and girls they need to speak to as part of operation sanctuary
Alleged abuse of children in care - arrests in Newcastle
Eight people have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to rape after a series of early morning raids in Newcastle.
Police officers searched eleven properties across the city after allegations of sexual abuse from several alleged victims, some of whom are in care or had been in care.
All of the complaints come from teenagers or young adults.
