Brothers jailed for life for George Dagg murder

Two brothers have been jailed for life for the murder of George "Geordie" Dagg.

Jess Ryan, 25, stabbed the 53-year-old father to death outside his home at Plains Farm, Sunderland, in June. He had taken his 22-year-old brother Jack Ryan with him.

Judge Paul Sloan QC said the attack was "cowardly".

Jess Ryan, of Toronto Road, must serve a minimum of 25 years before he can apply for parole.

Jack Ryan, of Toronto Square, must serve a minimum of 21 years.
