HMS Northumberland returns home

A Royal Navy frigate built at Swan Hunter returns to the North East for a six-day visit today.

HMS Northumberland will sail into North Shields, berthing at Northumbrian Quay in North Shields at approximately 10am.

She will remain until Monday, June 29th, and during her stay the ship and her crew will play host to a wide range of visitors and take part in a number of affiliation events.

The highlight of the visit will be on Friday, June 26th, when 160 members of the ship's company will proudly march in a spectacular Freedom Parade through the county town of Morpeth.

HMS Northumberland will be open to the public on Armed Forces Day, Saturday June 27th, between 11am and 4pm with last entry at 3.30pm.
