Armed Forces Day: events across the region

A day of tributes to the armed forces, past and present, are taking place across the region.

Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for members of the public to show their support to serving troops, as well as their families, veterans and cadets.

It marks the culmination of a week of events to highlight the work of those connected with our armed services.

Among the events taking place in the North East: a series of tributes in Redcar including a service of remembrance and a flyover by an historic Lancaster bomber.

On Sunday 26th June Darlington will host a free Proms in the Park, at the bandstand in South Park from 3pm.
