Train fare dodger jailed for 15 months

Fare dodger Caroline Elstob has been jailed for making 31 train journeys over a seven-month period without paying.

The 51-year-old, of Westmorland Road, Newcastle, extensively travelled on trains between Newcastle and Edinburgh, York and Leeds and local stations between September, 2015 and March, 2016 and defrauded four train companies a total of £1,615.70.

She was jailed at Newcastle Crown Court for 15 months for fraudulent rail travel, theft and breach of a Community Behaviour Order.
