New train for Saltburn Miniature Railway

Saltburn Miniature Railway is celebrating a new addition after three years of restoration work.

Blacklock R, the steam locomotive, has been named after the former Chairman of Saltburn Miniature Railway Association Reg Blacklock, who passed away in 2012.

Saltburn Miniature Railway was founded in 1947 and ran for many years but eventually fell into disrepair. It was rescued in 1985 by the founders of SMRA and has carried on successfully ever since. The attraction is based in one of Redcar and Cleveland’s country parks, Saltburn Valley Gardens.
