There are will be no Metro trains running during rush hour (TUE 16th) between South Gosforth and Shiremoor.
A limited replacement bus service is operating instead.
It's after a huge power surge on Monday (15th) afternoon that left passengers across the Metro network trapped on stranded trains.
An investigation is taking place to find out what caused it.
It's unclear how long this stretch of line will be affected for.
1/3 The service between South Gosforth and Shiremoor will continue to be temporarily suspended tomorrow due to todays power outage.
2/3 Engineers are continuing to work to rectify this. A very limited replacement bus service will be in operation,
3/3 passengers are advised to make other arrangements. Metro apologises for any inconveinance this may cause.
There were 7 trains that came to a stop. We needed to make sure the line was safe- it was a very well practised evacuation.
Gary Rogers was in the tunnel between Monument and Central station when there was a massive flash and the train stopped.
