Family tribute to 'fun-loving' Jamie from Haltwhistle

A family has paid tribute to a man who died in a road crash on the A66, close to the border of Cumbria and County Durham.

Jamie Armstrong was 30 and from Haltwhistle in Northumberland.

He died on Thursday when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with a lorry.

"Jamie who was known as “Jam”, was a fun loving lad who loved travelling and work. He always lived life to the full. Jamie has friends all over the world. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him."

Jamie’s family also thanked everyone for their kind words.

The fatal collision happened near to the Stainmore Cafe at around 5.20am last Thursday.

Cumbria Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision, or who were in the area at the time.
