Appeal after Tyne Bridge vandalised

Police want to hear from anyone with information

Police are appealing for information after the Tyne Bridge was vandalised.

Graffiti was sprayed on sections of the bridge at around 7.30pm on November 8.

15 large yellow tags were sprayed onto the structure with the words 'DVS' 'SPUD' and 'SHUC'.

"A person was seen walking across the bridge at the time of the damage who was wearing dark clothing with the hood pulled up. They were carrying a white plastic carrier bag and seen with a yellow can of spray paint.

"The bridge was busy with traffic at the time the damages happened and officers are appealing for anyone who might have seen anything, or with any information, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 448 09/11/16."
