Friends and former colleagues have been paying tribute to the Teesside broadcaster, Alastair Pirrie, who has died aged 62.
Alastair presented several programmes on Tyne Tees and national television in the late 1970s and 1980s, including the music series Razzmatazz. He was also one of the presenting team on Saturday Shake-Up, a children's Saturday morning programme.
This picture shows him with the pop group Madness.
The broadcaster started in radio and joined the newsroom at Tyne Tees before moving to entertainment programmes.
Former Tyne Tees presenter, Paul Frost, who went to school with Alastair Pirrie said he became a real star of television and will be sadly missed.
