Man's ear bitten in late night attack in Hexham

Police are appealing for information after a man's ear was bitten in what they say was an unprovoked attack in the Northumberland town of Hexham.

It happened around 11pm on Saturday, 11th February on Fore Street in the town centre.

A man approached the 20-year-old victim, biting his ear, before making off.

Police say the victim suffered a 'significant' injury to the ear and is in hospital.
