North East commuters are set to face disruption on Friday with a 24-hour strike on Northern rail services.
Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union members are walking out after talks broke down in a dispute over the role of train guards.
The rail company says it is adding carriages to services in operation around Middlesbrough, Whitby and Bridlington to help the support the first day of the Tour de Yorkshire.

The union said it was "angry and frustrated" that the company had rejected a proposal to invite Transport Department officials to join talks aimed at reaching a solution.
