What are your chances of reaching 100?

The Office for National Statistics has said that more than 95,000 people aged 65 in 2012 are expected to live to 100. Other findings include:

  • Baby girls have a statistically better chance of reaching 100 than boys
  • A third of babies born in 2012 will attain the age of 100
  • 600 people lived for a century in 1961, compared with 14,500 in 2012
  • This is projected to rise to 110,000 in 2035
