Olympic flame rides the Tube

The Olympic flame has taken the Tube as it continues its week-long journey through the capital. A total of 144 torchbearers, including rower James Cracknell and skier Chemmy Alcott, carried the flame 43 miles across London.

The Olympic torch went out for the first time today during the London 2012 relay, organisers confirmed.

The torch was attached to the side of Para-badminton star David Follett's wheelchair in Great Torrington, Devon when the "malfunction" occurred.

It was quickly relit from the "mother flame".
