Olympic torch saluted by flag-waving elephants

The Olympic torch was "saluted" by two elephants today on the sixth day of its tour of the UK.

The torch was transported on a Severn Valley Railway locomotive past their enclosure in the West Midland Safari Park on its journey from Bewdley to Kidderminster.

Five and fellow elephant Latabe, aged 20 and 19 respectively, have been practising for the event for the past two weeks when trains stopped alongside the park.

Local schoolchildren travelling on the train squealed with delight and waved from the windows.
