Killed soldier to be repatriated

A soldier killed in Afghanistan by a roadside bomb will be repatriated today. Sergeant Lee Paul Davidson of The Light Dragoons, from Doncaster died after his vehicle was hit while patrolling with the Afghan Uniformed Police.

Mourners pay their respects to fallen soldier

The body of Sergeant Lee Davidson of The Light Dragoons from Doncaster has been flown into RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.

The father-of-two, who was 32 and of The Light Dragoons, died on Sunday after his Ridgeback vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb while patrolling with the Afghan Uniformed Police in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province.

Sgt Davidson leaves his wife Samantha, who is pregnant with his daughter, and sons Jayden and Jamie. His body was earlier flown into RAF Brize Norton, in Oxfordshire, where the Union flag-draped coffin was carried by pall-bearers off a plane.
