PM: 'No votes for prisoners'

The Prime Minister has insisted that "prisoners are not getting the vote." Conservative MPs reacted angrily to a report in the Guardian that ministers are preparing to comply with a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights.

Government 'clear' that prisoners should not vote

A Government spokeswoman said: "We are considering the implications of the ECHR decision but we're clear that when people go to prison they lose their right to vote."
