Brits 'tortured in Dubai' due in court today

Three Brits allegedly tortured by police in Dubai will appear in court later today on drug charges.

Grant Cameron, Karl Williams and Suneet Jeerh say they were beaten and given electric shocks before signing documents in Arabic - a language none of the three speak. They strenuously deny the charges against them.

The father one of the three men who have been in custody for the past seven months, told Daybreak the family was frantic with worry.

Human rights group Reprieve has called on the UAE authorities to drop the charges, and let the three men come home.
