Peter Kay swaps stand-up for sitting down

Stand up comedian Peter Kay will be spending more time sitting down this week, as he travels from Belfast to London, from the comfort of his sofa.

The funnyman will arrive in London during the Red Nose Day broadcast being screened by BBC1 and BBC2 on Friday evening.

Following the success of previous cover single Is This The Way To Amarillo, Kay has also recorded a new version of the video to the James single Sit Down, with the group's lead singer.

"Having undertaken a rigorous training regime to prepare for the challenge, Peter will not only have to endure the physical strain put on his body, but be mentally psyched up to withstand days of sitting down for the Comic Relief sketch," a spokesman joked.
