Press anger at regulation deal

The Financial Times has become the latest newspaper to oppose the all-party endorsed press regulation proposals. The FT joins an opposition press group that includes The Times, The Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mirror and the Daily Mail.

Massive government climbdown over press regulation

Maria Miller was spinning it heavily, but this seems like a pretty massive government climbdown to me.

The government always said it was implacably opposed to the new regulatory system being underpinned in law and now it will be.

And I think we should be clear that it has happened because the government realised it was going to lose the vote.
