Giant Mr Darcy unveiled in London's Hyde Park

A 12-ft Mr Darcy amongst the swans in the Serpentine

A 12-foot sculpture of Mr Darcy has been installed in the Serpentine lake in London's Hyde Park.

The model marks the launch of UKTV's new channel Drama, and the 200th anniversary of Pride and Prejudice, copying the scene when Mr Darcy, played by Colin Firth in the BBC series, emerges from the lake.

The 12-ft model of Mr Darcy took two months to build

The fibreglass model, which took two months to build, will go on a tour of Great Britain before its permanent installation in Lyme Park in Cheshire, where the lake scenes were filmed.
