111 advisers 'feel unprepared'

Call handlers for the new 111 NHS out of hours service told ITV News they do not feel properly trained to deal with patients ringing the helpline. But the Department of Health says staff are "fully trained" and are "supported by experienced nurses."

8% of GPs think triage system is safe for patients

Less than 10% of GPs appear to think the triage system used by NHS 111 call centres is safe for patients, a study showed.

Pulse spoke to 440 GPs and found that 71% did not have confidence that the triage system, which decides the order of treatement for patients, was safe.
