Prominent Liberal Democrat party figure Baroness Shirley Williams has paid tribute to Sarah Teather after her announcement that she is standing down as an MP in 2015.
I am deeply saddened at the resignation of Sarah Teather MP for Brent Central, a woman of courage and conscience, deeply committed to her constituents.
I share her concern that money should never determine the right to come to this country. Commitment to our values of freedom, of justice, should be all that matters.
All of us owe Sarah Teather gratitude for the work she did to get the pupil premium adopted by the Government and it will be her legacy.
But in Parliamentary terms she is a young woman and I hope one day she will return.
