Disabled 'relying' on loans

Too many disabled people are relying on doorstep loans because they cannot make their budget cover all their costs after their benefits were cut, campaigners say. A report by Scope found 15% of disabled people were using loans to make ends meet.

Govt urged to improve standard of living for disabled

Campaigners are calling on the Government to relax welfare reforms for disabled people as it was revealed 15% of them were relying on loans to make ends meet.

Charity Scope found twice as many disabled people were taking out loans as the 7% of regular benefit claimants who used them to cover costs.

They are calling on Chancellor George Osborne to use Thursday's Autumn Statement to improve the standard of living for disabled people.
